| This wonderful, rustic 5 drawer chest has aspen log trim on the corners with aspen handles. The top of the chest is 1 1/2" thick blue pine with relief cuts on the under side which prevents the top from splitting or warping. We use blue pine for the sides and front. The drawer fronts are nice blue pine slabs. For the drawer boxes, we use a 9 ply birch which will resist shrinking or swelling in different weather conditions. The drawer boxes are then glued and stapled for durability. We then install the drawers on glides. This rustic chest has an oil and lacquer finish.
